The Symbolism & Psychology of the Tarot
Depth Psychology
The Tarot is far more than a tool of divination, a means of discerning “the will of the gods.” At its deepest level, it is a symbolic map of the psyche.
The Major Arcana form a sequence of archetypal images that reflect what Jung described as the great patterns of the collective unconscious.
In this workshop series, we will enter this world as a psychological journey. Card by card, we will explore the intelligence embodied in each image, uncover its gifts and its shadows, and examine how these archetypal forces operate within one's own life.
This series will explore:
- The Fool - The Ego & the Greater Self
- The Magician - Manifestation & the Creation of Consciusiness
- The High Priestess - Developing one's Intuition
- The Empress - The Great Mother & Our Relationship to the Physical World
- The Emperor - Civilisation, Authority, Law & Order. Positive & Negative Father Complexes.
NB: This course is part of a repeating cycle of 5 that covers the 22 Major Arcana cards.
