The Symbolism & Psychology of the Tarot P1
The Tarot is far more than a tool of divination, a means of discerning “the will of the gods.” At its deepest level, it is a symbolic map of the psyche.
The Major Arcana form a sequence of archetypal images that reflect what Jung described as the great patterns of the collective unconscious. The Fool stepping into the unknown. The Magician focusing will into action. The Tower shattered by lightning. The shining Star. These are living forces. Forces that describe inner movements of the soul as surely as outer events in one’s life.
Each trump card embodies a universal pattern of experience: initiation, temptation, crisis, loss, transformation, renewal. These archetypal images surface in dreams, myths, relationships, ambitions, breakdowns, and spiritual turning points. They point to energies beyond the ego, the deeper dynamics shaping our decisions, conflicts, and aspirations.
The aim is not prediction, but awareness. Insight.
In this workshop series, we will enter the world of the Major Arcana as a psychological and symbolic journey. Card by card, we will explore the intelligence embodied in each image, uncover its shadow and its gift, and examine how these archetypal forces are operating within your own life.
